Women Spirituality-Filis_1981.MP3 But once again, I'm real happy to be with you and especially on such an auspicious night as All Saint's Eve. I don't see any Halloween costumes. I can't believe it always tomorrow. Oh, okay. There were so many people running around in the airport for Halloween. I'm in costume. I'm I'm in a costume Phyllis Frederick. I don't know how many newcomers in here, but if you haven't Is this is your first time I'm hearing a bit about mayor Baba. It's a very exciting moment. Just recently for the past month and a half. I've been very busy with my archive. Have a friend and Giles helping me I collected from the minute. I heard of fava all sorts of anything, you know pictures and letters and stuff has been a real. Experience it's almost like experiencing again the events that I live through through the 40's cables from Baba letters from India from from my first letter from Baba all those exciting things. If it's just been a real wreath Rebirth of that spark the first hearing of Baba through the letters and things that I haven't looked at for years, you know, I've stashed them away. Real really carefully and I found some real Treasures things that Baba said to me a wrote to me or to all of us at those times and Especially one cable you can't imagine the thrill of getting a cable from Baba. This one was dated 1944 and it just says love blessings mayor bother and I remember the feeling I got with that cable was such love. I've not met yet met Baba and it was the midst of the war which perhaps you haven't looked through it, but it was a very terrifying time when didn't know what would happen actually 1944. Areas And that flutter fluff that came with that cable even before the cable actually physically got my hand. I began to feel it which was true. Sometimes I would I remember so well on the subway going home and just being suddenly flooded with this love this Bliss of love from homicide fed. I thought a letter or a cable and sure enough that they want on the door. I mean if Baba has his own he said one time I use cables to I love you know, and he'd often work through just sending tons of sort of business cables or anything to a certain spot or place and that was like carrying his current of universal work Margaret tells a wonderful story of that in 1941, November 41. She had to write Baba says I want to visit Hawaii. She had the right to Hawaii all the time cables and then comes the same. Amber 7th, 1941 Pearl Harbor no more cables no more talk of Hawaii. So I'm just making a little diversion here of the contact. I had with Baba before I actually met him. And the Sweet Taste of love you get really addicted to if you have addictive behavior. Well, you know, I have addictive behavior. I just want to read one or two things. I copied from from these cables. Barbara said today tell Phyllis that God's will is infinite and he can change alter and adjust as he wishes love rules the universe and our part in it is to go on loving both God and each other more and more. That's just a little Pearl coming out of the letter. Another one was I always loved my lover's more than they love me. And this was in a letter from Lorena Bababitt said to us lots come and go with when you can't control them, but feeling you can create I thought that was very interesting feeling you can create. Anyway, the emphasis is always on love with Baba. And that love is something we all can share now. This Baba is ever present the love. Is there the physical form may be gone, but the love is there and you can feel it. I know you've all felt it her you wouldn't have that hook to bother Baba's Hook is love whatever else you know, he satisfies the intellect and all that but the hook is love and you often sit with us and say, oh you've been with me since ages and you look in his eyes and he has his It's like a Tunnel of Love going back. God knows when see your creation. You know, you feel you've hooked into bottom and of course, he said some very interesting things about creation. Let's see my pick for tonight. I have talked about in our group down south and in Australia, which was kind of fun. Australia is a little bit. A little bit hasn't yet come up to two are. Time, you know, it's a little backward. Sorry. There's some Australians on the subject of women. So I had a lot of fun with this special thing but being a woman and being involved with Baba is this are the special Parma whichever sex body or in you have a little different Karma with Baba being with Baba as of woman was a special treat in a way because you were with Baba of just simply With that all day with all the others the crowds of people men and women and then it had a special treat to be alone with Baba and just the women and that was a very very wonderful kind of way to feel your femininity and a totally new way because Baba is so perfect in love and so pure and yet he's male and female both that it's like It helps you balance out your femininity and a very special. Bababy said that in the discourse is another place is that in today's world. He's putting Eastern Souls into Western bodies and Western souls and the Eastern body. He also said that in the East men are more spiritual and in the west women are more spiritual and these things are kind of interesting because he said these way back early in early days. What does he mean by that? Well, of course Obvious thing is to balance Karma East and West I'm sure we've all had recent Eastern incarnations, you know, it's balancing out. And also The place of women in the west has become a very interesting things sociologically and psychologically. It seems that Baba has emphasized a growth period for women in the whole history of mankind, but especially in western civilization where the accent really has been on the masculine dominance pattern probably through basically through originally art Date Christian background where God is Baba and men are in control and woman had a submissive point there happened matriarchal societies way back in early days. It was more of the majority but in the west anyway, it's been not exactly a matriarchal society. But now we're at a junction Baba explains and many ways that were Not only at the end of a cycle, but at the end of a cycle of cycles, and it's a very critical time in our development as a human race. It's a change point in many many ways and especially in our own development. And Baba of predicted his coming to the West in the 20s before I had come he said he described some of the people he would meet some of the women he would me. He said I must come to the west to meet the members of my circle before the second world war the next World War and he said most of my work in the west will be done by women. And actually that prediction has sort of come true for a certain period I think now or maybe in a new period but It certainly has been true that. The forward pushing Baba is outer work. I don't know inner work that strips different but has been carried on by certain people in his group who were women. I heard of Baba through the three women humbaba sent back in 1941 just before America got into the war and Arena. Matchabelli netting Tolstoy who is the daughter-in-law Leo famous author and Elizabeth Patterson. An arena used to give talks is very dramatic and very expert at being on stage and speaking inspirationally about Baba. With a wonderful warm hearted person who's very good at you know, personal contact with people and Elizabeth was sort of behind the scenes support of it all and eventually of course is most of you know, very influential and founding and gifting met her Center on the lakes to Baba and she just recently passed on after a tremendous job of creating a center and making it function it's easy. Enough to buy land. It's easy enough to put up buildings and make pronouncements and all but the gift of dedicating at Holy to Baba and keeping that pure Spirit of a retreat for Baba of a place where you can feel Baba is presence. It's an extraordinary job. She did because it required a lot of talents or business talents or for first of all Devotion to bother And that was a tremendous achievement, which is ongoing. Other women is IV do so found it a new aspect of Sufism Sufism reoriented and just recently dropped the body to and carried on a work in that direction. There's Margaret kraske who was and still is still she's still here with us worked for Baba and another way in the world of the Arts. She's the world's leading teacher of a chickadee dance ballet. And through her work met many people and Drew them to Baba through that type of world which, you know doesn't necessarily cut across and other types of world. Bababy just generated tremendous work through these women then there's Kitty Davey and Jane Haynes and Agnes Farren with Mary mouth and Delia and London whose carried on the work of the London group for so many years. During the war that was difficult years London under bombardment carried on a baba Center there and Charing Cross with the blankets. And that wasn't easy. Was amazing during the war. Why Baba emphasize works with women? It's always been interesting question. He has said that just as when he was Christ. He was Jesus. I know newcomers will have to get into that later. But for now we'll say he said that he would help the world give a push from instinct to reason that was 2,000 years ago. And that colored the forward motion of that cycle of our development and it's true that reason was emphasized over very Pagan kind of world made a great difference in scientific Advance. Finally that has altered civilization for all of us around the world. But it has reached its Zenith Baba says and now he has to make the transition to the world of intuition and that brings up a real question. What is intuition? And you can see why perhaps women have a place to bring about more easily this transition because as of woman intuition is more a function of your life than it is if you're in a male body and especially in a culture or Society where reason is emphasized science has emphasized the attitude of the whole concept of Truth scientific truth evidential to which we all know, I studied in college and go through the whole trip intuition hasn't been stressed as much but for women it's sort of something you have a little easier time with because it is easier to reach your intuition as a woman. So it was I see that it was easier for these women, even though it was not easy and her ever to follow Obama, but they could step out. And kind of represent Baba of focused Baba easily more easily than the men of their own generation because the male then had to as still doesn't our society to some degree, but Baba has made a tremendous change already play a role of the reasoning person the scientific minded the evidential thing. They are you know, whereas the woman who didn't have to perhaps appear professionally in the same way fit step out and say yes, I believe in me revolver. I believe in all these wonderful intuitively felt things such as the love for God and all is the easier way for them. And this is a role that they had to play and they had the courage to do it. And it was a very it had a very profound effect on my life to to meet these people and experience their intuition directly because Each one of them had a gift of intuition in their own way your first intuition. Of course it being that Baba is the Avatar that's first and then to follow it. So it became a question for me. What is intuition? How do you distinguish it? Perhaps from Instinct maybe or psychic flashes or unconscious judgments and so forth. You see if we have to make this transition. Whole Humanity, it becomes kind of critical to Define intuition exactly in distinction from other things because the human language use the word over and over in different people use it different ways. I see people using the word intuition when they really mean they just have Actually a sort of a paranormal feeling about what's going to happen. You say I have an intuition that tomorrow, you know, I'll get a check in the mail tomorrow or today. I shouldn't go down here but I should go down there or that's really not an intuition the way Bababy uses the word that is simply that gift that we all have that we can gather information in subliminal ways are I don't like the word. Psychic but you're using your whole mentality to pick up information you collated inwardly and then you come up with a what you call a Flash and today's. Jargon. That's not an intuition intuition is really paying attention to a spiritual kind of fact rather than just a information gathered in unusual ways about The gross World facts your intuition for example to take the Supreme intuition that Baba is who he says he is that is using your intuition to feel something as a spiritual value is intuition to have a relatedness towards someone in a real heart quality. That's interesting. It's really beginning to use your heart as a knowing Center. Rather than the brain, you know, they have the left hand the right hand brain thing. Now, they're getting into that. They're kind of delving into it. But Baba once said that illumination comes when The Head and the Heart are balanced. And Ashley, it was Darwin Shaw had this kind of experience. He actually felt bother giving him this experience that they had came down and the Heart came up and we're sort of United here into a new form of knowing. These are all different ways of to know Instinct as a way to know but you gained in all your animal and carnations and you still have a lot of it and you're early human life. It's very important and for example a more primitive. Side instinct is still pretty critical before you get to reason reason is a way of knowing that is opened the world the universe incredible knowledge of the universe but the heart quality the heart knows, you know, that old cliche the heart has reasons the head nose not whatever that good quotation. It is a way of knowing and it's not paranormal knowledge. It's not psychological. Acknowledge or paranormal ability. I think that's a big confusion. So if we step from reason to intuition we have to clear away what it isn't I think before you get to what it is and you the more you read of Baba if you're just reading you see that Baba over and over again stress is love as the way the shortcut to God Pete would endlessly ask us do we love him the first thing in the morning? We'd see Bababy says do you love me? I don't know about you. I'll tell you a hint for the next 700 years if he comes again, Baba says do you love me say yes, the matter what you feel just like when he said do you obey me? Yes, we had quite a thing and have 58. I think it actually he doesn't I read recently the story of the service and India just before he came to our service and American 15. He says Said, you know, will you obey me and everyone says yes, you know. Well, what happened in Myrtle Beach he said Will you obey me all those raise your hands? Everybody raised their hand and said one guy, you know it he'll get up and there's this one French boy. This is Baba. I don't know if I can obey you it was real honest. He's a little more honest than the rest, but that Baba says try try. All you have to do is try and the same thing to say about love, you know, if you say I can't love Baba and we all go through Dry periods. And you know, it's like season cycle hot wet dry hot. Cocoa. Baba always say try try to love me. I remember when I first met dr. Go right ahead. You know time to talk to her. She said, you know Baba asked me to come and she had medical training to be in the ashram and she says but Baba I don't love him. And he said well your baby she said yes, and she said it took her about three years before she even felt love for Baba. I thought that was such an amazing story that she had a vidiots but she didn't have to love but the love came it's like digging a channel, you know, a dry Channel and keep digging the channel and hoping and then someday You know, there's water and it flows and if you haven't dug the channel, you know, it's kind of useless. So whichever way you start love is important and that that's the quality of knowing that at the peak of intuition. That's what you're going to get that way of knowing through the heart. Through love because love is knowledge. Eventually it all becomes one in the state of bother of any illumined one. Perfect one that the love the knowledge the Bliss. It's really the same thing. We just pasting different words on different aspects out their functions have it but it is absolute knowledge. And of course in the presence of Baba you kind of get this dramatic sense of what it's all about where we just verbalize we read we verbalize Mentalize we use reason, you know, you can't quite get the whole thing and it had some taste of it. It's like my cousin was a lucky boy who was chosen to take care of Barbara when he had the accident and is in a wheelchair. And so the first time he was there with Baba it was a freshman at college and didn't know anything about Baba that was one of the condition and this is probably what is this guy real thing? Bababy's eyes sparkle, you know, he likes it a little count. Yeah that was spelling on his board and it's like a headache if you haven't had it, you know, it don't know what it is. Like my cousin could read the board really it's hard to do. You have to read upside down and very fast. So what is the place of woman the woman has a chance to function more in the heart quality? It's been served a classic. I would say this is just a generalization. But your role has put you there. Even your natural biology is putting your there your mother you have to take care of children or you've your wife. Your sweetheart love is sort of what your role has been. But of course in a patriarchal male-dominated. That role has been kind of, you know hasn't flowered as far as it can go and now Baba is given a real push to a woman using intuition in a more direct way, maybe toward the spiritual growth and therefore a lot of changes have been faced by women. I think for example to me the fact that mayro who represents woman to Baba Ava and Maya, you know both the universal Maya and woman the fact that she was in seclusion and then it was slowly was drawn away the the curtain are Veil but not so very fast until the accident in America where she was jolted with this very severe injury. If I head and then sheep for the first time had to the male doctors had to deal with them and they examined her and all that it broke the seclusion what in America it was significant to me that this because she if she represents women and the seclusion represents the you know sub dominant position of women, then it's broken and it's broken first in America, and that's sort of what's Happening. That in America the women are sort of going forward on their development and very rapidly actually. So it's just a public subject now, you know rights of women and all that and the changes. And it means of course if a man have to accept that and deal with it and go into a little jungian psychology. If I'm sure you're all such a brilliant group of people that you know, all that as young has given us a broad picture of the fact that we're all male and female but when you have for example in a feminine body, You have a feminine outer nature, but your inner self is masculine. He calls that the Animus and then the Mayo is in a male body. His outer selfish male. His inner self is animal, which of course is Latin for soul. And as Bababy said we're searching for who we really are the whole creation is who am I and each Incarnation you ask yourself again this question. Who am I well and you in want to encourage you say aye. The woman you say that or I'm a man you don't doubt that but you're still not sure who you really are. So you're searching for your hidden inner self. And that is the opposite of you. So if you're a woman you're searching for your inner animal self. That's why you fall in love. Why do you fall in love with X instead of Y, you know because they are a hook there a representation of that inner self that you're searching for. And of course it has an archetypal. Image for you based on you know, jungian psychology image of your opposite sex parents, you know you fall in love with your Baba image, or maybe the reverse if you didn't like him, you know, if he beat you up if you fall in love with men that beat you up, you know it certified or if he treated you certain way and so your that's that's the development from Lifetime to Lifetime we switch Sexes because we have Switch our search for our inner real self, which of course is God. You don't know it yet through till you become balanced in your psychology of your inner self male and female because just like The Head and the Heart have to come together. You have to become eventually like what Baba is a Divine and Regina are you totally balanced all your qualities, but it's a long journey and you go through tremendous Karma. If you come into this life, you've chosen out of are huge. I call it the attic of sans-serif. Yeah, this huge bundle is dummies. I'll take this bundle and work out this Bunch. You can't handle it all at one one Incarnation. So you choose this bundle and that sort of determines perhaps what sex you're going to work it out through and the culture pattern and all that, but you're still searching for that inner self and it can be a very driving search and Course you search through in the search for human love that dramatizes for every human being and then if in other ways too because if you're searching for your inner self, you may search through creativity, which is again a search for the inner self, but through some outer Talent manifestation or through work or through if you're a saint with a few of us are through, you know, suffering separate. Yes bomb and And that's when everybody gets up and leaves but but you know through the spiritual life. And usually with Baba as he said in the west renunciation is not for the West Inner Detachment is your path. So it throws Us in the role of male-female relationships through job relationships through creativity all these more or less ways that we search for the inner self which again is always our office it and if you really want to get into it I do think so. I've been making a list of books. Very good books on the subject to learn a little bit about it. Who mostly young I think gets there and some Modern psychologists have done added to Young Spacek a theories. It's really a excellent way to surface get a grip on it because Baba is has given the gist of it in the discourses through the Opposites of incarnation. For example after you drop this body or Shed it or whatever you want to say. So then you have to study what happened in this life. You have to kind of go through the movie real quick and say, oh that that that said and I would see what a lousy name something, you know, or that was good. I really and now you say well this and that and I didn't do that. I should do that still want to do that. I still love that one and this one and that one and then you take another bundle of sensor, but it's like you go to the Opposites and so you're in another body and another opposite sex and some very funny dramas must be played and as you know, it's a funny thing when you watch people make but meet Barbara, you know, you're bringing in someone I had that pleasure of introducing for You know Barb has eyes twinkle, you know, he knows like a couple comes in. He was sick. Wow, this couple of a couple now wait a minute. What was it? You just have that feeling of a doesn't say anything. But you know or this one's the daughter of that bother and you know, all it just you know it but you can feel Baba as the light in the way karma is working out. And there's a little incidents about that. You know, some of them kind of sad that Baba of worked on beautifully. There was one woman this woman came to Baba. I just didn't hear she said I had this child a daughter and ever since she was born. We just hated each other just just just like the child and nothing they could do and it's just awful and Baba said don't worry go home, and I think he gave her Something to eat Gabe of mother the daughter wasn't there. So it's such a beautiful story in the middle of the night. The mother wakes up and the daughter wake up and they're both our hearts are flooded with love for each other. It's like Baba a wife down. He didn't explain what the background of it was or anything and the same thing happened Nadine told me this story. Nadine was Russian and ruin a bogus Avenue. She was Romanian is that both real all about is women by the way, The way are super powerful people. They really incredible to know them personally. And they had ever known each other and they met in Baba is ashram or less and they just couldn't stand each other and Baba of course put them together as roommates. I said I'll trip and they tried so hard, you know here they are with Baba to love each other. It's just impossible and then one night and Nadine asked ourselves. What is it? Is it something we've done to each other about said? Yes. And one night it was cold air up north and ruana wakes up. And Nadine is putting a blanket over her an extra blanket in the cold and that just you know, the love just dissolve everything. I heard so many stories about. The life of the women with Baba in India nozick and If you've been to mehrbod you see that upper room. It's just a tiny room and they had these little cots with little curtains around it and these women again very powerful women with Incredible careers and backgrounds and vast diversity of temperaments in this little tiny dormitory and just a tiny touch certified Field Days of the Middle Ages. They weren't allowed. I remember Kitty telling me she never had a mirror. Baba wouldn't let her have a mirror, you know, it's like you don't look at you know, it's like the old nunneries, you know, we don't have a married out. You don't look at yourself. Yeah, and I heard a my mind is wandering. I hope you don't mind that she hadn't had any new clothes Kitty. I just couldn't stand that you know, so I found out her size and I sent her some clothes and made them or did something I don't and of course everything is sin gifts and everything Baba gets and then he decides he didn't give him to Kitty at all gave me the somebody else so they had a very tough time but always flooded with love for Baba. I do think you should all read Margaret spoke and Kitty has finished. Mrsa will be out and Elizabeth published Treasures. And the experiences of these women Bababum work very hard with them and they were actually I think more women in the nausicaa. Uncouple only that was Gene and Malcolm and if anything is harder than being alone with Baba, it's being a couple because in general there's no two souls in University exactly the same point on the path. You can't be because your path is individual. Anyway, it's like a thread to Baba and a thread to Bababy, you know, the two different paths and so to keep up your Relationship your depth of feeling for your mate. And Baba is working on this Eco and this Eagle what happens to him affects you the wife or vice versa and I once asked Margaret, you know, she told me all these stories that you can't really publish this because it's so intense and so personal that it's just one of those stories. You can't bring out the public of the intense work that bother this But I always felt great sympathy for her someone, you know living there with the intensity of Baba's work on your ego and then you're part of a couple and I saw that myself when Baba a cane to keep up your role as the sweetheart of the maid or something. I'm the same time in the eventual sense. Baba is the Beloved, you know, it's kind of things like a triangle really, let's face it. Baba was Major. But the Bible says God is jealous te so he takes this development where you're growing toward the union really of your your two parts your inner self and your outer self. To blend which is the Divine Oneness that is a long journey and it's a real psychological journey and Baba would be by being the third one the perfect one. You see. It's like the triangle your mail and your female both but ones out of there out of sync, you know, you haven't coordinated. So focusing on the Divine One whether it's God or as you have a master Barber it helps to You know, the dialectic goes toward the young Union of the inner and the outer and classically the mail. You know, it's difficult to make cliches and I don't like cliches but the male orientation is toward reason toward using your mind ego mind in a quote rational way. It says it's whole thing. And then the feminine side is the intuitive I heart side so you can see why you have to take alternate incarnations and in one particular life also try to balance these two sides of yourself through And Bababy gives us the Grace by concentrating and on him. So it's the perfect balance. So the path for woman now is to emerge from all the old sub dominant positions in career and marriage relationships and family relationships. To balance the feminine side with more of the logical rational side. And so you have women getting into careers that only men handle before or positions of authority. They don't even have before and you know, this is a big big change in that or in a personal relationship being more equal and not just yes. They're here your slippers, you know, the old fishing are I cook but you know. No, why do you do you eat? Well anyway, but so it's a lot of things are changing and as the woman emerges more toward balancing toward her masculine side now and this growth development, then the man has to first of all accept that and not feel threatened. And also develop his feminine side inner side intuitive side and feeling side and now you have men who now are not afraid perhaps talk my feelings or but they still have a problem. You know, it's like the Baba world I think is going through the crest of the wave and others are, you know a little bit behind and then the mass of people out there a little slower, you know, because Baba is given us an extra push speed. We speed it up. So we have more problems, right anybody disagree with that. But you know, you're in the Forefront. It's like when David came and a 30 she said that America has is materialistic, but it has the energy and once I turn the key, you know, all the energy will go to experiential development and I'm paraphrasing and to apply to the psychological problem not just energy in a sense of material wealth or Nothing, but we also have the energy and psychologically Angie. First of all, you have to Freedom how many people in the world have the freedom to worry whether they're happy today or whether they're sweetheart agrees with them or not or whether you had a you know, they're starving your main thing out there is hey, am I going to eat today? Not whether someone is talk their feelings over one, you know or so it has it's a breakthrough for In our culture that we have the freedom to deal with that. You know Krishna says, you know to Arjuna that he has to fight the battle. I think it was gone. Do you pointed out this this isn't necessarily a physical War battle. It's the battlefield that God gives you and in our age. It's a battlefield internal relationships we have you know, and we're in the Forefront of that. I think the Bible world now every time my phone rings it's pink or red, you know problem. It's the relationships relationships. But that's where Baba is Fabolous you say for you. You have the Leisure you have the job that you know, you're not starving so you can worry by their wife or husband or sweetheart is or your child isn't talking to your teenagers. And we all of these problems you have to deal with Baba is thrown you into it. It's a luxury in a necessity in a sense. And so we have to think about it and to think about Your development the woman is sort of a in the Forefront pushed further. I think I mean, I'm sorry man, but I think we're pushed a little bit and then have to kind of keep up with you a little bit and that's sort of what I saw happening with these these very extraordinary women. They had they had to break through they had made breakthroughs against the cliches of their time, which I sort of shared a little bit not quite Their age group but familiar with it. They had to give up position like the Rita had to give her a position up in society quote unquote or netting and her world and Margaret and her world to carve a career for herself to maintain herself. She had to twice give up her school for bother and anyone in the creative world knows how difficult it is to maintain a individual. Professional stance like that and then give it all up and then give it up twice. So they made very tremendous sacrifices and Away the we were breakthroughs then we wouldn't have to perhaps do the same but we have still to go forward. And in this sense, I certainly was inspired by their courage and their example, but I think now in the 80s a new generation Shift people are equalizing may be the Breakthrough and you have like today we have in the bottom of world, but I think men are sharing a lot more of the activities and the work of Baba than they did in the 30s and 40s. And so we've already moved into an era which you can feel in the cultural interests of the world where feelings are important almost everybody in the world that goes to some kind of therapy or something are intensive studies or touched or feeling or I don't know. Well, you know millions of them a lot Los Angeles has them all and I'm sure you have but there's the real cultural atmosphere for it. Of course. It gets carried away too. And again, they've mixed up what is a search for inner growth with a lot of other stuff and they've been in business enterpreneurs of made money off of it and phony gurus making money off of it and everything but it's a thing that the whole cultural have to go through and it's happening here and then it will happen, you know a little bit further in other cultures as they free themselves from the old patterns or get Pushed away from the old match our pattern, you know. This is what I had fun with in Australia, you know, but you know, it's there's breakthroughs happening and I thought well instead of doing all the talking here. Maybe be fun to just have questions. Is that okay? Anybody have any, you know, lots of feedback friends? Yeah. Christian Gnostic Christian, I would the Gnostic Gospels. Well, you see the study pursuing through interesting and just recently those Gnostic Gospels have been discovered and 44. I think that where it shows what was pushed aside and the development of Chris. And which was in a Reliance on your inner intuition and not on the priests of the Pope or something. And of course is the church crystallize and develop that was counted as heresy and they were persecuted and stuff and it's true. They tried to equalize the mother Baba aspect of God, you know, but that got pushed aside and I don't know whether st. Paul or who, you know said women had to shut up and be quiet and you know all that. Sort of determine a lot of things that have happened even now it's the battle in Orthodox Churches of Judaism and protestantism think the Catholics have given up but you know to have a woman be a minister, you know to be a rabbi. It was one girl is very brave. Finally got to be a rabbi and that was pretty exciting. I mean that that was Seth but that's this is 1980 and you're still fighting the idea that a woman can be holy and Murmur the right words are hold up the Chalice or I think that was one big hit about Christian sighs it Mary Baker Eddy. She got up there and did her thing, you know. Yeah, the history of religion is very instructive. I don't know who's quoted is but if you don't study history, you're going to repeat it's just true. I hope the Baba world hasn't at least we learn a little bit from the past. Anybody else want to share? Yeah have practical ideas and help develop you mentioned remember that's true to develop This Heart quality, but Bababy gives a lot of hints. He does give hints but he said to us and whose Kenmore asked him. Dr. Kimmel. How should we love you bother and he said it's not for me to tell you how to love me. How do you love your wife is It goes on at Great length that at that love is love but he does say something very nice. Love is catching you catch it from others who loved and that started basically what happens that's why in a family where there was love and the child grows up and is pretty able to love but if the child didn't get that love and it'll have trouble later on. So I think by opening your heart to bother he helped you. You in your love relationships. I really think that's true because love is something you share. Baba says it grows by sharing and I think this is important for all of us because sometimes that sharing is hard, you know, Baba groups or Baba communities, you know you share it's kind of hard, you know, you have your little personal things. You don't like the smell of that when you had a little fight when this went out to overcome it this sort of bothers, you know, you have to kind of make The effort is like digging the dry Channel. You have to make kind of efforts over efforts to overcome. Your you're sort of anti-gravity. You have to go against your natural nature is to get irritated and annoyed and to shut yourself off as a out of hell. I don't want to bother with a situation of Allah, you know, it's the same thing. They went through in the ashram in a very intense way. In fact in the new awake nerp. Puff puff Irene Billow talks about it's a really touching thing like every night Baba. They sat with Baba and then he would Embrace everybody but one each one A different and that person's go to bed. Just you know, crying under the covers and upset and didn't dare show it and you know, and then the next night it was another one, you know, Baba I finally she and wanted to others. Suddenly realize it took much my love for Baba to ignore. That one is see that he really loved that one you see and so when they all discovered that Baba really love the most like, you know, and how hard it was for him not to embrace one person then he didn't do it anymore, but they also had to and she described how I almost every day but Baba would have this little I guess I should call a therapy session like Ben get up. What is it? That's bothering you, you know tell and everyone else sitting around that's always so hard, you know, be nice to have a little private session but everything and then you have to open yourself up and give your feelings and whatever bother to do and then Baba would work on that or if it was with somebody else and they said their piece and it was like you have to express yourself and I went through a couple of these with oven. People to you had to open up you couldn't shut off. You couldn't bury it. And this is very important for helping your intuition because intuition which is the heart quality will be blocked. If you repress Baba says or if you overexpress like, you know, and there's what the psychologists have some good hints. Although I can't follow him and everything but it's saying basically the same thing if you squelch it all or hide it all or be very much. Cho and don't express feelings and or with women, maybe do the opposite don't scream and yell and cry that everything, you know, then you're not really dealing with it is that you have to work on it and a sort of combined way of using your your reason and your heart to sort out what's happening get rid of the since Cara. Otherwise, you're just giving it more power by not dealing with it. And that's where I think the world is moving forward and in our society. Anyway, at least they're tackling these problems openly much more than they used to I can remember in my family, you know, you don't talk certain generation levels. You didn't talk about their feelings, you know, people just suffer in silence, maybe 10 years later when they had a few drinks. Oh you really recently went through that with my sister. Well you see The point is in the 40s. You were brought up a certain way that and even in my family was very open and Bohemian and intelligent while I was still dealing with feelings still a very difficult issue and also going through depression and the war if you don't understand your parents, they went through depression and a war and I have serious stuff and we're out of me you had to keep the old stiff upper lip and be courageous and fight it out and Nature there and so feelings didn't get dealt with they were a luxury to get dealt with they had you had to function in other ways. So also it was the style the still a Victorian Puritan American, you know, you don't express always so, you know, there's sort of but it's bit gets buried and then it doesn't get dealt with so Baba is moving us forward into looking within more. And it's a simple exercise of being self-critical every day and looking at what you've done and trying to be honest with yourself or with the people close to you. I'm trying to deal with the issue and solve it with Baba's love and compassion to help you deal with it. You know, it kind of put yourself I try this maybe a little sacrilegious, but I try to put myself as if I were a barber for a moment. Aunt how would I deal with it? You know if I ribama would I forget what I forgive when I do this when I was at or would I be sour and angry and griping irritable or very at all or you know not pick up the phone and discuss it and I have to deal with myself and then try to finish I'm giving my own thing try to finish with that day. And wipe it out everything because it's just like soil that irritation anger frustration negative moods of all kinds accumulate the Bible gives the best example in his discourse. I'm worried. He says if you don't deal with the worry, it accumulates the Baba. You don't know what you're worried about. You just worried, you know, and the same thing with depression they've gone into phds on depression. It's you don't You're depressed about it anymore, you know because you've allowed it to accumulate or you're angry and you don't know anymore what you're angry. But I mean, I know we've all had people like that. They're just perpetually angry, you know you bump your bat one eye the wrong way and they're mad at you. You know, it's just because they've accumulated so much hostility that they can't deal with it everything sets them on fire, you know, and you could easily become that way if you don't deal everyday with it, that's What I thought was a great example that Irene brought out and others to about the nasik ashram and the action bar Bedell every day was knows issues. You go back and you read the Diaries. No, he didn't allow anything to Fester see and that's where I think we've moved and that's where Baba was saying intuition. You have to deal with it more honestly, and then you clear the channel and then this real love quality of real spiritual intuition will start to flow. And it's a happy condition because knowledge is happiness love and knowledge or one there and it's half is half. What what makes you unhappy is not knowing being powerless. And not feeling the The freedom of not having to eat though. Oh, yeah. You can tell him partner. He always says the sea of forgetfulness and I love that image. It's you have to get to God state of forgetfulness where you know, you really don't hang on to all these Illusions, but and it's even in stressed in modern psychology that you have to forgive. Like there's a wonderful book like divorce your mother and Baba you have to Forgive your parents first of all, because those Impressions have been so strong it's child and it's not only the Forgiveness with Rosie's pointing out its forgetting because I you know, we've all done it. Oh, yeah, I forgive him. But God damn it. I can't forget and then of course you're going to repeat it. That's this. That's the sad part. So it's really an art to forget the Forgiveness sort of Surface, but the forgetting the really that's why I like Baba is images a see if forget my throw it in the ocean. Enough. So this get a little impression and say I forgive the other hand. I remember the area of heard and it sounds like you're a military maneuver. Don't want to do want to keep that person out of that area and everything know that this Warfare but you know, I mean I'm kind of exaggerated in a way. But now how do I get rid of something like that? I mean, I don't try to do that way sometimes no, it's very humid. Yeah. No, it's because it's like a bruise it takes time to go away but Baba does give us hints and although he you know holds the Deal in front of us like if you really think that that person is stoppa or as a psychologist say that's really you, you know, actually it's true that our psychologist is that the trait we don't like and someone else is the one you're having trouble with yourself. I mean it's a hard fact of face, but you know, if someone irritates you you have to be honest and say that's Quality that I'm not dealing with in myself. Now those were young brings out or excellently the shadow you have you know, your face is like the moon, you know has a dark and light side and you're always sort of projecting the Light Side toward the rest of the nature and you don't if you don't deal with that dark side, you're not facing it looking at but what do you do you project that shadowy calls it on out there and you can see it very clearly and people Who are really not dealing with life because they get paranoid. It's always the other person who's done something, you know, the classic thing, you're all Communists. You're attacking me, you know and a little way in small ways. We do the same thing if you have a fighter the guy's fault and so it's always you did that to me and you hurt me, you know, but you have to kind of really honest to say hey, that's the best the thing and you I'm not looking you know how I said it beautifully the beam in your own eye. Really the molten your eyes are centered thing is bothering you. So you see it out there, you know, actually when you have a speck in your eye, it's out there look and so if you kind of really get to that noodle, you know, yeah. Well, let's say that if it's the right encounter, it's great. If you feel love for everyone, it's like Baba says, okay the saint on this explain. What does he Spiel? He you know, he feels God in everyone. He actually literally Sees God in everyone. So, how can he quarrel with himself? How can he be angry, you know st. Francis gives the perfect someone beat him up and he goes Grace is him and says, you know brother thank you know, he just the ultimate, you know, and the Buddhist examples same thing. Yeah. Well, Baba says, you know, he's breaking his silence constantly in your heart. I speak with the voice of the heart. If you listen to the heart, you know all those quotes. I'm not quoting accurately, but he's telling you to listen to the voice of the heart, which is your intuition and sometimes it can come rather dramatically. Of course, that's where you have to be careful that you're not deluding yourself. It's a tricky path. But I think you can feel that some people get it even like hearing it or feeling the emotion to you know, the love coming out that if you open your heart which again just comes from getting rid of the negativity negativity of the ego. Then you will feel a push from bother in your heart. Baba is in the heart right here. He's here. Where is he's here, you know, everyone's looking for 700 years or looking backwards. And they are above the person he is here and if we all were in a state of grace we see him, you know feel him is the Oneness. And you would feel that pushing the heart and like even if you had to make decisions essentially you kind of get that push. But of course you have to distinguish that from the pushy or since Kara's and that's where it gets really tricky. Well again, it's just like I said before it's discrimination. It's constantly looking at yourself. Honestly facing the shadow side realizing that your project the shadow onto things out there. What you do is reabsorbed that projection and get rid of it in yourself. It's like a happy person finds happiness in others are loving others. They're a little dramatic example. I'm sure you have this in your Four people come to our fruit for say, oh, they're not very loving, you know, X will come the group's there with Cole Griffith and a lot loving I don't feel warmth and while I walk and someone else another strange all kinds of oh, it's such a warm loving room. I mean, I don't think we behave that much differently, but you see they get back what they project and of course, it's very tough to tell some of that but that's what you get that you know, so if you're working on the negativity in Stuff and get rid of it. You will feel more of the positive in what's happening out there and you'll you'll be more released to be more relaxed. If they You can it can't it's hard work. I'm not saying that anybody, you know gets their very fast because it's working on the part. You don't like to work on we all like to skim over it, you know, like putting icing on a bad tasting cake, you know, that's what we do all And we just don't face face ourselves. So you see you have to how are you going to do that? First of all, I would say listen to what other people are telling you if they tell you you're a blankety-blank something. I won't use bad words here. I know you never understand but then listen to it just don't say oh that's his office chump. He doesn't understand me, you know listen to it and take it into account and Pay attention to the feedback you get asked for more feedback lay yourself on the operating table. Well, it's true because that's what Baba is going to do to you. Anyway, so you might as well face it that's ice. Everybody leaves and I mention them but it's you know, it's you think it's painful but it isn't self-discovery can work yourself to point of really freeing yourself and then you have this happiness coming. It's true, you know. Because let's say I go back to these women who and them into I'm not knocking them but the women had through their tremendous work on themselves with fava the first they had the chance to directly they have if you've met some of them, I know you have Elizabeth if Matt and Margaret and Isaiah and others, you know, they have they have released a lot of That ordinary narrowness and you could feel you can feel the flow with feel flow of Love. See they've worked on it each one the different degrees. I don't know comparisons are odious. But you know, you can feel it the feel like we bring with Kitty you feel so here she is 90 years old. She's booming around this happy and wonderful, and she's and Elizabeth the same, you know, it's and I went to see You know last fall and you know all that she stood up to and all she's gone through incredible. You know, I know a little bit about it said Serenity there. You know, she has channeled out some of that negativity and achieved. Yeah and and Darwin and I speak of people in you know, and the monetary of course is supreme example. It sounds like there's no I think the nostalgic memories are great, but I'm all for him. But it's today and today's I forget the name of that Battlefield and Nikita's got some of the Sanskrit name, but that's that's where on the battlefield let's face it and we're going to be there for a lot of life. So you might as well get the hang of it, you know. And you kind of Baba's hooked you with the love. But now he said to you to work. And actually if you don't do the work you drift away in the love disappears. I've seen that and you know, 45 years of Ava if you're not willing to work on yourself you drift away, you know, it's too tough and alright better luck next both but you know, it's the point of it all but Baba gives you trust tremendous rewards for the little effort is like I said, if you take one step toward me I take 12 towards you now, that doesn't mean just physical good. Good. Nice job of nice Romance by lava. No, it means you are working on yourself one step and then he'll do 12 steps to help you if you can Master mind your karma. What is this thing? They do in music with a meld lens that new thing. Synthesized that's about is a Moog synthesizer of your karma, you know, you turned your car over to him and he twiddles all enough sand. So you kind of get a chance to work on things more precisely. And then if you're using the brain, I don't think you should shut toss away this reason you've gone through developing. No, I'm not for these Bible. I would say. Oh, I don't have to do anything evolve or know, I don't Say Baba is giving you talent and brain your brain is important there. I can go back to college. No, but the heart quality has to be balanced with it. It's just like in the karma. We have a lot more negative Karma than positive crime. So we have to do more positive good things and the same way. We've got more reason and more logic. And so therefore we have to I think stress More of the heart quality but in some types of might be just the opposite. Maybe they need a little more brain in the the Scarecrow without friends. Was it a loss. Anyway, I guess I've talked enough and now we have a big treat coming which is Jeff mile at singing two of my very very favorite song. Great for Junk is this to have caused to the house of His children are playing out their roles for him solely in the liquid laughter. It is all surely. This is the home of the crime. Surely this is the home of the crown. One grand household is this is the host and who is the girl each visitor receiving precious gifts unknown. The greatest treasure is to know his home is your home. From the cry truly again from the What great for John? Is this we have come to the house of the Lord he standing in the doorway with his arms open wide beckon each Traveller to step inside. Truly he is the Christ. True you are maybe he'll cry. When they begin the beguine It brings back a sound of music so tender. It brings back a night of tropical Splendor. It brings back a memory evergreen trees. I'm with you once more Under the Stars. I'm down by the shore and orchestras playing and even the poor thing to be sway when they begin. Bababy To live it again is passed all Endeavor except when that you clutches my heart then here we are swearing to love forever and promising never. No, never to part. What moments divided what Rapture SRI till clouds came along to disperse the joys we had tasted and now when I view people cast the chance that was wasted I know but too well. What they mean, so don't let them begin the begin let the love that was once a fireman main an umber. Let it sleep like the dead desire. I only remember When they begin the beguine, oh, yes, I begin the begin and make them play till the stars that were there before it come above you. To do you whisper to me once more darling? I love you. And we suddenly know what heaven weary when they begin the beguine. When they begin Bababy We have one moment of silence. Joe Baba Well, once again, I'm real happy to be with you all and especially on such an auspicious night as All Saint's Eve. I don't see any Halloween costumes. I can't believe it always tomorrow. I've been very busy with my archive have a friend then Giles helping me I collected from the minute. I heard of bhava all sorts of anything, you know pictures and letters and stuff has been a real. Experience it's almost like experiencing again the events that I lived through through the 40's cables from Baba letters from India from from my first letter from Baba all those exciting things if it's just been a real.
